Position Summary:

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for processing all payment invoices and ensuring that all creditors are paid accurately, efficiently, and on time. Compiling and maintaining accounts payable data, as well as providing clerical and administrative support, will be part of this job.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Full-cycle payables process including sending invoices for approval, invoice entry, posting, and payment (checks, ACHs, and wires)
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Compiles and reviews source documents, such as vouchers, for completeness and accuracy, and prepares reports.
  • Verifies and posts details of business transactions to appropriate ledgers and journals, and total accounts.
  • Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Researches and resolves expense reimbursement discrepancies and issues.
  • Corresponds with vendors and responds to inquiries.
  • Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
  • Assists with the month-end closure process.
  • Maintain files and documents in compliance with business policy and accepted accounting standards, meticulously and accurately.

Position Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
  • 2+ years of experience in accounts payable
  • 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as effective interpersonal and collaborative abilities.
  • Ability to meet all deadlines on a consistent basis.
