Position Summary:

The Cost & Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for supporting the continuous transformation of Prospiant accounting operations to improve processes, mitigate risk, improve efficiency, and enhance accuracy of the companys financial results. The Cost & Continuous Improvement Manager will play an integral role in influencing change while shaping a best-in-class culture through balance of financial process and technical acumen, leadership, and engagement skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement industry best practices
  • Review existing processes. Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities. Make recommendations. Lead changes
  • Incorporate technology as appropriate. Identify technical partners and make recommendations. Support system implementations
  • Establish core KPIs. Drive standardized reporting. Support ad hoc analysis
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff. Recommend further courses of action
  • Drive team culture. Manage, mentor and upskill a team. Drive a continuous improvement and LEAN mindset
  • Maintain SOPs and ensure continuous efficiency improvements in accordance with SOX
  • Manage cycle count program
  • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory investigating and explaining book to physical adjustments
  • Analyze inventory trends and develop reports which highlight and communicate significant changes
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics for material costs and establishes material and labor standards
  • Analyze standard cost variances in material, labor, and manufacturing overhead
  • Calculate E&O reserve for multiple locations
  • Perform standard cost rolls and provide analysis of inventory impact
  • Review inventory and other general ledger accounts
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Perform monthly closing activities
  • Assist in preparation of month-end reporting package
  • Provide information requested by external and internal audit teams

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 5+ years experience in Accounting
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in Inventory and Cost Accounting
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in Excel
  • Prior experience using ERP systems, Epicor preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with our valued team members
  • Ability to sit or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs
  • Minimal travel
