Internship Program Overview (Resume and Cover Letter Required – Read Requirements Below)

Interns will get a chance to test drive a career within the Global Energy and Sustainability space. You’ll have your own scope of work with a dedicated team and mentor buddy who will guide you as you get to apply your knowledge and skills to RMI.

If interested in multiple roles, we recommend applicants to apply for a maximum of only two Workday intern jobs.

Timeline

Climate Finance

  • Our Climate Finance team was established to help private financial institutions partner with their clients, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to develop practical and scalable solutions to the barriers to climate alignment. For private financial institutions, climate alignment means actively using levers and tools that facilitate the real economy transition toward net-zero emissions. The intern working on this team will explore a variety of areas such as capital markets and financial institutions within energy transition.

Carbon Free Buildings

  • Our Carbon-Free Buildings Program is focused on ending reliance on fossil fuels to power and construct our built environment, bringing buildings to the forefront of a clean energy future. The intern working on this team will assist with projects about Transition Finance or Resilience and Insurance.

Third Derivative

  • Our Third Derivative Program has a focus on guiding and supporting climate tech start-ups who are bringing new ideas and innovation to market, we accelerate the clean future worldwide. The intern on this team will support capital strategy & fund partnerships, fund operations, and fund structuring & fundraising.

General Qualifications

  • You are passionate about global sustainable energy.
  • You have completed classes, projects, labs, or experiences that consisted of finance, accounting, investment operations, or related.
  • Some knowledge of financial institutions, financial or investment markets.
  • Commitment to environmental justice and racial justice.
  • Currently enrolled in college, preferably as a junior or senior. We also consider master level graduate students and recent graduates as well.
  • You have the permanent, legal right to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor visas for interns.

Preferred Qualifications For These Teams

  • You have a background or interest in finance or investment fund operations.
  • You’re comfortable with communication and excited to collaborate with peers.
  • You enjoy responsibility and take pride in your work.
  • You have a track record of participating in student organizations, balancing school and work, or other activities.

Feel free to add additional sections that highlight any leadership roles you’ve held, relevant coursework, academic projects that you’ve completed, conference presentations, or any articles that have been published.

Cover Letter (Required)

Compensation

Interns are paid $20.00/hr. and expected to work between 35-40 hours per week.

We are a remote-ready organization with team members around the globe. Our beautiful and welcoming offices are available for meetings or focused work, whether you are traveling through or living nearby.
