LOCATION

This is a remote position. Up to 25% travel is required, to attend customer-site and in-office meetings as required. Candidates must reside in the United States.

Expected salary range of $86,400 to $96,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose Of Position

The Inside Sales Representative (ISR) will be a part of the Arise Energy sales organization. The ISR will be responsible for guiding prospective customers through the Arise Energy digital customer acquisition platform. Responsibilities will include providing customer guidance for 1.) pre-sale issue resolution 2.) retail electric supplier and contract enquiries 3.) basic market analytics 4.) contract execution and handoff to post-sale team. The ISR will be a crucial component to customer acquisition.

Our proprietary, self-service, online platform lets customers take control over their energy purchasing and our client-focused team of advisors help customers achieve cost, budget and sustainability goals. Arise Energy is an independent subsidiary of Constellation, a Fortune 200 clean energy leader.

Duties

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Address and resolve prospective customer questions and concerns: The ISR will be responsible for resolving inbound prospective customer issues during the pre-sales phase of the customer journey. The ISR will respond to customer inquiries from chat, email, and phone channels. They will identify and classify issues, resolve issues by working closely with internal pricing, technology, and operations teams as well as 3rd party energy suppliers, and track issue resolution through our CRM and service software. The questions and issues may include topics relating to Arise Energy platform functionality, energy price quotes, supplier contracts, and basic energy market analytics. (35%)
  • Manage the digital customer journey from account setup to contract execution: The ISR will monitor online users of the Arise Energy platform and help them progress through the steps in the process. The ISR will engage proactively and reactively with the users through various communications channels including chat and email to answer questions and provide guidance to users looking to learn about Arise Energy, view prices and plans, review contracts or transact. The basic steps of the digital customer journey include account setup, quote request and response, plan comparison and selection, and contract execution. (30)
  • Manage the inbound sales pipeline: The ISR will follow up with and manage sales opportunities generated through the Arise Energy marketing campaigns. The ISR will work with prospects who have expressed interest in Arise Energy, set up accounts or have compared plans to convert them into customers. They will closely collaborate with sales leadership, the marketing agency and the operations team and utilize the CRM and internal systems to track and measure activity and key metrics. (15%)
  • Route prospective customers to functional groups: The digital journey is designed for customers who fit certain geography, energy usage, and product requirements. The ISR will be expected to identify and properly route sales opportunities that fall outside the scope of the Arise Energy digital journey to the appropriate teams or team members. (10%)
  • Digital customer experience process improvement strategies: Arise Energy is a new and dynamic approach to customer acquisition and self-service energy purchasing. The ISR will participate in discussions with leadership, digital product team and marketing to offer suggestions and strategies to improve upon existing processes and procedures based on their experiences and perspectives. (10%)

Minimun Qualifications

  • 5+ years of energy industry experience
  • 5+ years of sales, sales support or account management experience
  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills to function in a team environment and to maintain rapport with employees and customers.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and independent decision-making.
  • Ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with internal customers.
  • Flexibility on the job and the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information always

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience providing inside sales, sales support or customer support for an eCommerce platform, highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience in the retail energy industry and/or regulated energy industry
  • Prior experience in using CRM and/or Order-to-Cash workflow systems
