Summary:

The Project Systems Engineering Manager will oversee the planning, design, development, and implementation of complex systems within an organization. The manager will oversee the full project lifecycle, guaranteeing adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This position requires strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills, with expertise in systems engineering principles, methodologies, and project management.

Job Details:

  • Lead a team of systems engineers, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure projects are completed effectively and efficiently
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of systems engineering projects, from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define system requirements and develop comprehensive system designs and architectures that meet organizational needs
  • Possess a strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices, and stay abreast of advancements in technology and industry trends
  • Identify potential risks and issues related to system design and implementation, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, hardware engineers, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure alignment and integration of system components
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the systems engineering team, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, issues, and milestones
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE CSEP) or project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus
  • 5+ years of proven experience in systems engineering
  • 3+ years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals
  • In-depth knowledge of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and tools, with experience in system design, integration, and testing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing
  • Limited travel requirements
