⚡ Job Summary:

We’re looking for a driven individual to join our systems engineering team, focusing on delivering carbon-neutral heat and power using an innovative solid-state thermal battery. Collaborate closely with our passionate engineering teams to lead the mechanical design of our thermal battery, from conceptualization to validation. As a key member of our growing organization, your work will directly contribute to showcasing a revolutionary energy storage solution.

⚡ Responsibilities:

  • Lead the hardware development for subsystems and components within the thermal battery system, spanning from initial architecture assessments to manufacturing phases.
  • Perform design calculations and trade studies for structural, thermal, and fluid systems.
  • Work with team members to establish system requirements.
  • Establish and maintain engineering best practices, standards, and documentation.
  • Provide mentorship to interns and junior engineers to support their technical and professional development.
  • Possibly supervise a small team of engineers as a technical project manager or people manager.
  • Take ownership of designated design scope, demonstrating proactive problem-solving skills and self-initiative.
  • Manage priorities and scope independently, addressing team risks and changes proactively.

⚡ Key Requirements:

  • Educational and industry experience requirements vary by level:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant industry experience/ Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant industry experience/ PhD with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, contributing to subsystem architecture and risk management.
  • Proficiency in independently developing hardware products, from design to execution.
  • Strong skills in Solidworks for 3D CAD and PDM software for data management.
  • Ability to create engineering drawings and perform finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Preferred experience with common manufacturing processes and systems analysis.
  • Collaborative working style with excellent communication skills and a focus on team success.
