Job Description

NextEra Mobility is focused on accelerating the electrification of fleets by offering integrated solutions spanning charging, renewables, resiliency, vehicle conversion and fleet as a service. The Project Manager of Development is responsible for late-stage development on a variety of mobility projects and will directly impact our goal of aggressively growing our mobility position.

You will lead Development projects across North America from project approval to commercial operation, including overseeing cross-functional teams across the NextEra Energy Resources organization. You will lead the process and progression of new and existing projects, to ensure they are designed, permitted, constructed, and placed into service efficiently.

In this role, you will work closely with early-stage developers/origination team to understand project needs and execute site diligence, ensuring smooth transition into late-stage development. As the leader of collaborative and dynamic project teams, you will coordinate on a daily basis with subject matter experts. You will also be responsible for presenting your projects/updates to leadership.

  • Development experience, in the energy space (utility integration, permitting, land development, infrastructure development, and project management experience)
  • Schedule-, risk-, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivation and a strong work ethic; ability to adapt and re-prioritize as necessary
  • Willingness to travel 30-50%– travel needs will fluctuate depending on department/project requirements

Further, Experience In These Areas Is Beneficial

  • EV / H2 / CNG vehicle industry experience
  • Additional Distributed Energy Resources / Distributed Generation experience – i.e. demand response, solar, storage, CHP, fuel cells, natural gas or other onsite generation
  • Commercial transactions experience
  • Real estate experience

Location for this role can be remote. You will be responsible for project development across the country, with a primary focus on California, Texas, or the Northeast, and will travel across our sites extensively.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad/GED
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 5+ years
