Summary Of Role

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Advisor to develop, implement, and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations within the Solar Power industry.

This will also include Interacting with a variety of departments conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling. Monitors environmental compliance and maintains liaison with appropriate regulatory agencies. Recommends corrective action where environmental health and safety hazards exist to our field installation teams.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision, lead and support the administration, development, and improvement of occupational safety and health programs.
  • Field Safety Audits and Safety training/ coaching
  • Reporting findings/ fixes and developing Job Hazard Analyses
  • Ensures personnel and management follow the SunPower policies and Safety Manual
  • Serve as a technical and internal management partner in preventing injuries and illnesses, ensuring regulatory compliance, and incorporating best practices into ES’s safety management system.
  • Lead the program development, management, and facilitation to ensure consistent and practical application throughout the ES enterprise.
  • Will assist Safety management in the execution of safety programs in all business environments, including field operations and offices.

Essential Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in EHS Management or Science field and 2 + years of related experience OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
  • Min of 5 years experience within the solar and construction industry
  • Requires specific knowledge of local and federal regulations (OSHA and DOT) safety laws, and State Departments of Public Safety requirements as they pertain to renewable energy and construction
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport/credibility with both management and the skilled construction workforce.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations as well as sound safety management principles and practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Field Supervisor level PV Experience
  • PV Install experience
  • Smith Driving safety trained as a trainer
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Conflict de-escalation skills

Certifciatons

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Fall Protection Competent Person Trainer Certificate
  • NFPA 70E Train the Trainer

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
  • Climb and descend a ladder multiple times a day
  • Standing, sitting, and kneeling multiple times an hour
  • Can work in inclement weather
  • Good eyesight – corrective lenses are OK
  • Clean driving record
  • Travel up to 75% Airplane and Car

Pay Range

$58,960-$88,440
