The Installation Manager Position
Sunnova Energy is searching for an Installation Manager to be responsible leading installations crews and ensuring installation contractors have the leadership and technical support to effectively install our Direct Sales product line of services. This individual will have extensive knowledge of Photovoltaic (PV) installations, battery storage, EV Chargers, generators, along with other products that create an integrated and adaptive home for our customers. In addition to technical knowledge and expertise, this individual will need to exhibit excellent communication, training, and people skills to develop positive relationships with our installation crews and the network of Sunnova Installation installers.
Installation Manager
Responsibilities
- Is the Installation Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Direct Sales products
- Provides on-site and remote technical expertise and support for direct employees and our network of Sunnova Installation installers
- Engage Installer network candidates to ensure appropriate capacity, performance expectations and KPI’s are developed in partnership
- Develops, distributes, and educates network of Sunnova Installation installers and direct employees on training material
- Educates network of Sunnova Installation installers and direct employees on the Sunnova guidelines for successful submission and review of all Project Engineering requirements for each product
- Establishes and manages ongoing Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews for network of Sunnova Installation installers and direct employees to achieve performance expectations
- Personnel management including interviewing, corrective action, coaching, and termination
Minimum Requirements
- Education required: High School diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of PV, Battery Storage, EV Charger, Load Control, Smart Panels (or a combination thereof) Installations
- 2 years of management experience
- Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record
- Previous management experience with direct field teams or Subcontractors
Preferred Qualifications
- Training documentation development
- Direct field installation of PV, Battery Storage, EV Chargers, Load Control and Smart Panels or a combination thereof
- 5+ years of management experience
- Public company experience
- Experience with Salesforce CRM
Additional Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Detailed oriented with ability to operate and manage remotely
- Interpersonal skills that develop positive and open relationships with Installers
- Troubleshoot and resolve immediate technical issues that arise in the field
- Learn new product installation guidelines and be able to assess how this will impact field installations
Working Conditions
- On-site and in the field for installations
- Remote support
- Ability for overnight travel up to 50% of the time
Physical Requirements
- Extended periods of time working at computer workstation
- Long hours spent outside of residential rooftops, driving to customer residencies, some ground and rooftop work
- Various weather conditions include cold and snowy, hot and humid, and everything in between; must be comfortable working in different environments
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; assistance may be provided for oversized items
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and drive for up to 8 hours at a time
- Work postures include reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, and handling objects above/below the shoulders
