Position Overview:

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Novelis has approximately 11,600 employees in 33 operating facilities on four continents and is investing $2.5 billion to build a new low-carbon recycling and rolling plant in Bay Minette, Alabama. The highly advanced facility will serve growing demand for aluminum beverage can sheet in North America. The new facility will also serve the automotive market, where aluminum is the fastest growing material as automakers make plans to achieve their sustainability goals. It will aim to be net carbon neutral for Scope 1 and 2, be powered primarily by renewable energy, use recycled water and be a zero-waste facility.
The Bay Minette Novelis team is seeking a Supply Chain Manager which provides functional leadership and support for its applicable supply chain and product lines, which includes handling the department planning leads for the Plant. The position is responsible for (1) ensuring demand and production plans are in alignment, (2) optimizing processes and material flow for production specific to the supply network, and (3) business partnering with each manufacturing unit to implement improvement plans related to inventory, cycle time and overall plant key performance indicators. The Manager will collaborate with commercial and manufacturing organizations to provide balanced demand/capacity plans as well as operating direction and coordination for Plant (inclusive of Auto, Can and Specialty requirements for 3rd party customers, Other Plants and External Processing). In addition, the Manager, Supply Chain will work daily with Plant Manager, Manufacturing Unit Managers, S&OP team and Operations Planning personnel to assure a consistent and holistic view of demand/capacity on the Plant.
This position will report to the North America Director for Supply Chain Strategy.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Managing and coordinating a sustainable supply chain department in a complex environment that involves coordination across different corporate organizations, product lines and operating locations.

Meeting inventory targets (cash flow) and sales objectives, while maintaining a high level of customer service during a time where the primary assets for this value stream are completely full. Influencing operational flow across the Plant to enhance throughout across these critical assets

Optimize end to end process from Sheet Ingot through Delivery to the Customer, including any Tolling (EPO), which may involve multiple Novelis plants and systems.

Liaison between S&OP planning at the Plant.

Partner with S&OP team to equitably distribute capacities within plant-wide constraints

Work with manufacturing units to optimize capacity and accurately reflect capabilities in order to meet objectives.

Control overall inventory levels and metal positions for Plant within specified targets from sheet ingot through PCC/FG. This includes oversight and disposition of surplus/stranded items.

Supervise execution of the Plant production and shipment plan. Energetically react to deviations using all available levers. Lead and coordinate activities to maximize product flow paths to ensure the best possible customer service, maximize shipments and improve metal velocity.

Participate in measurement of key performance measures, financial analysis and improvement plans to drive process improvement throughout the supply chain.

Manage objectives across the commercial, technical, continuous improvement and manufacturing managers to ensure product line is working to the same objectives and a balanced holistic integrated plan.

Work closely with other Novelis plants in the Value stream, as well as NNA Logistics team to ensure strategic and tactical needs are met.

Partner with Demand Managers/Master Planning to help reduce variation within customer forecasts.

Prepare as required for S&OP and NTP sessions based on defined cadence, as well as maintain Product Line demand/capacity plans for both time horizons

Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration or Technical Discipline with exposure to supply chain management

Over 5-10 years related experience in multinational manufacturing company, similar industry is preferred

5 years of experience leading a technical team

Solid understanding of SAP APO planning parameters and their interaction in the timely execution of orders

Strong computer skills. Sophisticated knowledge of Microsoft Office

Masters’ Degree in Supply Chain

Novelis’ newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile, AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola, FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying, advanced careers in modern manufacturing and become fully operational in 2025. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
