Global Project Risk Manager Roles and Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Global Project Risk Manager within our GEMTE team located in Allentown, PA. This position requires 20% domestic / global travel.

Reporting to the Manager of the Global PMO, the Global Project Risk Manager will actively maintain and lead the Project Risk Management work process at a global level, providing direct support to the regions where necessary to maintain alignment.

Required Skills / Abilities

Ensure the effectiveness and competitiveness the Project Risk Management work process; drive measured improvements to Project Risk Management that benefit project cost, schedule, and quality performance.

Ensure all requirements of the Project Risk Management function are aligned within the function, with other global functions, and with organizational policies and procedures.

Work closely with Regional Risk Manager counterparts across all operating regions to support the Project Risk Management work process. Directly support project risk management efforts such as facilitation of Risk Workshops on key Classification IV & V mega-projects.

Work with the Director of Global Project Compliance and Risk to ensure the risk management process and tools are applied correctly and consistently on projects in all regions.

Lead and participate in improvement efforts within the Global PMO space, especially, but not limited to, those that relate to Project Risk Management. This will include tracking progress, raising issues, and reporting out on progress, cost, schedule, and risk. Summary reports of managed efforts will be presented regularly to the Manager, Global PMO and the Director of Global Project management & Delivery.

Support development, implementation, rollout, and ongoing utilization of the new Project Risk Management software, including alignment with the Project Risk Management work process and organizational change to all impacted teams (Proposals & Project Delivery Organizations).

Maintain a global project portfolio risk report, including project names, key risks to individual projects, key regional risks, key global risks, and proactive identification and mitigation support for any risk trends within the portfolio.

Education And Licensing Requirements

  • 10+ years of Project Management or related experience in a technology-focused or EPC organization.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering, technical, business, or other relevant field.
  • Project management and project risk management methodologies certification (e.g., Project Management Professional certification (PMP), Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP))
  • Proficiency managing project scope, budget, profitability, schedule, and risk
  • Deep understanding of project risk management, project management, and broader project delivery work processes (including engineering, procurement, and construction).
  • Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills. Ability to constructively manage conflict.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly polished communication skills, both oral and written; excellent presentation skills.
  • High ethical standards. Committed to integrity.
  • Experience using EPC project management tools, risk management and/or quantitative risk analysis software (e.g., Deltek Competence) is a plus.
