The Advanced Grid Modeling group within the Center for Energy, Environmental, and Economic Systems Analysis (CEEESA) is seeking to hire an engineer to conduct research on electric power systems planning, operations, and control. CEEESA is a research center within the Energy Systems and Infrastructure Analysis division, which is a part of the Advanced Energy Technologies directorate of Argonne National Laboratory.
The candidate will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts for conducting research and development in finding solutions for the problems faced by the energy and power sector. The candidate will lead and work on complex technical problems and develop novel and innovative solutions. Technology leadership responsibilities include planning and leading research and development programs that include the development and application of computational simulation tools to evaluate and analyze energy technologies and energy supply and demand systems from the perspective of cost and performance, end-use requirements, environmental impacts, and socioeconomic issues. The candidate will also create, develop, and sustain research programs and attract funding in these areas. The candidate will recruit, mentor, and train the next generation workforce while maintaining Argonne’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) goals.
