The HR & Talent Associate provides support for day-to-day Talent & HR operations as it relates to human resources. This includes responding to employee inquiries, supporting Talent Acquisition, processing HRIS workflow, and coordinating timekeeping support, and back up support for the HR & Benefits Specialist. The individual will play a role in projects for continuous improvement of HR processes and the employee experience which provides general support to HRs strategic goals and ESSs Guiding Principles. A successful Associate will build sustainable service-focused relationships with employees, highlighting employee engagement and fostering the ESS culture.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as the first level of response and interaction for the department while balancing urgency and timeliness of duties.
  • Serve as a consultant to employees in areas of process, policy and resource guidance, general inquiries, and training. Conduct exit interviews and be responsible for the employee exit/separation process.
  • Answer questions pertaining to the interpretation of HR policies, including employee handbook, HR, or employee questions.
  • Is a point of contact for data collection in compliance with specific reporting efforts such as AAP, Vets and EEO, to include running reports and submitting data.
  • Contribute, create, and publish employee communications for ADP or ESSs SharePoint site.
  • Build strong professional relationships with employees and teams to deliver value-added services. Assist with employee relation matters.
  • Assist with HR-related metrics: ad-hoc reporting, local market research, and analysis, as needed. Stay current on developments in federal and state laws, and employee/employer relations.
  • Supporting Talent Acquisition but sourcing and recruiting for roles when needed. Includes managing the requisition process, identifying appropriate sourcing strategies, & supporting the hiring manager on the candidate selection process.
  • Coordinates culture and assists with planning, budgeting, events, training, and celebration initiatives surrounding employee events. Promote inclusion, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Managers to onboard new hires, conduct orientation, and partner with department heads to support the overall new employee experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field (preferred).
  • Must have at least 3 years of HR experience in roles such as HR Generalist, recruiting, or HR Coordinator. This should include supporting both exempt and non-exempt employee populations.
  • Multi-state experience and knowledge of employment law and compliance are preferred.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and recruiting hourly to mid-level exempt employees.
  • Solid understanding of Wage and Hour laws, including FLSA.
  • Requires solid knowledge of principles and practices of human resource administration.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, guidance techniques, and principles to guide employees to the best resolution and outcome.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of EEO and governmental compliance laws, such as file submission of EEO1 reporting.
  • Desire and ability to grow and develop skillsets for future growth and advancement.
  • Will have demonstrated ability to understand, interpret, and apply policies and procedures and provide guidance on all HR issues.
  • Demonstrated team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to adapt and shift competing priorities and tasks while meeting deadlines and urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute duties.
  • High degree of confidentiality.
  • Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
