The role of the Production Supervisor at Franklin Foods is to be responsible for scheduling and organizing the production process, while paying close attention to the yearly plant objectives. Using strong people skills, the Production Supervisor will direct the team daily in the processing of our products according to quality specifications. The production manager will be proficient at all aspects of the production process, be able to trouble shoot product issues and be technically proficient. The Production Supervisor will need to promote and enforce worker safety and work collaboratively with the Quality Department to help pass all State, Federal, SQF and Customer Audits. The Production Manager must follow Hochland standards for management, cooperation and code of conduct.

Responsibilities

Major Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:

  • Organize all production activities based on forecasts from the Planners.
  • Create a respectful work environment that motivates people to want to work at Franklin Foods and support our goal of being the leading employer in our market.
  • Communicate the importance of achieving the yearly Plant Objectives to Supervisors and all Team Members.
  • Focus the team on Product Quality, Worker Safety, OEE, RMP and Conversion Cost.
  • Work with the other Production Supervisors to create an efficient work schedule that takes into account product quality, OEE. RMP, and worker safety and conversion cost.
  • Is directly responsible for meeting the quality requirements of the products.
  • Monitors the production process and establishes corrective measures to ensure the continuity of manufacture, product quality and compliance with Hochland standards.
  • Initiates and participates in the implementation of projects for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Approve stopping of the manufacturing process, when the quality and safety of the product is affected. Let the Quality Department know.
  • Participate in the resolution of customer complaints from consumers, which require technical and technological expertise.

Provides support to the R +D Department:

  • Participate in the development project team of new products.
  • Participate in the product safety risk analysis and participate in the establishment of an action plan.
  • Access new product quality from an actual production run standpoint.
  • Participate in the cost optimization of the new product.

Participate and support other Franklin Foods projects:

  • Assure expertise for the realization of technical investments.
  • Provides support for Improvement Ideas and implementation.

Other related activities:

  • Participate in internal and external audits;
  • Member of the HACCP team;
  • Follows the implementation of corrective measures established following audits

  • Perform employee performance reviews on an annual basis.

  • Maintains the department’s equipment at the appropriate levels;
  • Use equipment responsibly, without abuse;
  • Notifies any failure to direct superior;
  • Follows the procedures and working instructions necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the job description;

Shift and Schedule:

This is a full-time position working on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to work overtime and weekends according to the needs of the business.
