We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering & Construction Director to lead and oversee our engineering and construction efforts in the rapidly growing renewable energy sector in the United States. As a pivotal member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and construction phases of renewable energy projects, ensuring the successful execution of design and construction activities from inception to completion.

Your task and responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and administer company program all for engineering and construction activities for renewable energy projects.
  • Accountable for company Program/Project Management Office (PMO)
  • Accountable for ensuring U.S. design standards are met to U.S. grid specifications
  • Oversee the execution of construction activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards. Includes oversight of site project managers
  • Select and manage engineering contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Review and enforce all engineering deliverables for accuracy and compliance
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Implement and enforce strict quality assurance and safety protocols on construction sites.
  • Collaborate with safety and environmental teams to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor construction budgets and expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement effective project control measures to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering and construction-related matters, liaising with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on construction progress, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges during construction phases and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address issues to prevent delays and ensure project success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Electrical or Civil engineering background preferred.
  • Proven experience in construction management, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
  • Strong understanding and experience in the engineering and construction of electrical systems
  • Experience with technical grid interconnection requirements for BESS systems, including power system engineering specifications.
  • Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Effective leadership and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and construction best practices.
