Position Description

The senior-level Project Architect with 10 or more years of practice, provides important experience and responsibility on a project team. They are experienced technical specialists with the ability to enhance a projects design and are often a strategic resource to the entire firm. The experienced Project Architect is the in-house, subject matter expert for architectural detailing, assemblies, code compliance and solving complex challenges.

As a Project Architect, you will be an integral, full-time team member in our Architectural group as you:

  • Maintain a strong interest in design-sensitive problem solving through collaborative design and systems thinking,
  • Plan and develop architectural projects with varying degrees of complexity both individually and as part of a team,
  • Multi-task, establish priorities, and effectively communicate with team members, clients, and consultants as needed,
  • Use strong technical proficiency in detailing, with a good understanding of building and accessibility codes,
  • Ensure a high standard of excellence regarding the constructability of architectural sets with reviews throughout the phases of design and construction.
  • Have experience in independently driving smaller project teams and guiding Owners through all phases of a project, from kick off to construction administration,
  • Maintain an interest in client management and ability to balance the needs of multiple project stakeholders.

A successful candidate is highly communicative, possesses the ability to motivate others to reach finite milestones, and is capable of being a knowledge expert for project teams.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in architecture
  • Architectural License
  • 10 years experience minimum in professional practice
  • Detailed knowledge of local, city and state code requirements
  • Experience in all phases of architectural projects
  • Experience designing and coordinating complex building systems
  • Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and graphic skills
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills

Position Preferences

  • Public Sector work experience, including higher education, K-12 education, libraries and/or civic work.
  • Proficiency with Architectural software programs: Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign), MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Salary Range

This position offers $92,000 – $109,000 per year with a midpoint at $100,000. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience and market.
