The FP&A Analyst will support Fluence’s Americas region with financial analysis, fiscal management, accounting support and FP&A. This role will provide critical financial analysis into financial results, insight into variances, and be the point of contact for the Americas team’s financial needs and questions. The ideal candidate will find strategic conversations from a finance view stimulating. This role will report to the Americas Director of FP&A.
As an FP&A Analyst at Fluence, you will:
- Review monthly actuals on both contracts and overhead.
- Explain month over month variances and/or budget.
- Support the Fluence Americas Business commercial team in reviewing main financial and commercial terms of customers’ contracts.
- Work with business leaders and accounting teams to carefully review coding of revenues items (progress of completion vs straight line revenue recognition) and cost items (Cost of Goods vs. Overhead) etc.
- Support the process of capitalization of internal labor for the build, installation and commissioning of Fluence products, ensure proper labor cost liquidation and rate calculation.
- Perform headcount reporting.
- Manage monthly order intake, accruals, and revenue classification reporting with respective finance and accounting business partners.
- Collaborate with Fluence Americas finance leaders to prepare presentations to the executive teams.
- Support the Fluence Americas Director of FP&A and the Fluence Americas Business leaders to prepare the yearly budget.
- Support Fluence Americas Business leaders with vendor contracting onboarding, management, and payment processes?
- Collaborate with other finance functions, i.e. CPM Finance, Controllership, CPM Sales etc. to complete tasks and deliverables.
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
- The ideal candidate would have 2 to 4 years’ experience working in finance or business administration roles. Energy industry knowledge and experience with NetSuite, NSPB, Salesforce, Incorta, PowerBI are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent training.
- Demonstrated ability in financial modelling, general accounting knowledge, familiarity with contract commercial terms, experience with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) processes.
- Capability to manage the financial performance of organizational unit(s) to keep it on track with budget and other defined goals.
- A working knowledge of Excel skills is required.
- You enjoy working in a high growth environment and evolving commercial business models.
