We have partnered with a large meat packaging company in the Greeley, CO area to provide them with a Global Director of Climate Services. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.
Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Global Director of Climate Services:
#1. Must have at least 10 years of experience as a director level or higher.
#2. Must have experience working with Greenhouse Gas (Action plans, Inventory ect.)
#3. Must have experience in how greenhouse gas is calculated and maintained.
#4. No more than 3 jobs in the past 10 years.
Education
Requirements of the Global Director of Climate Services:
- Bachelor’s degree required; a graduate degree in fields like sustainable finance, environmental sciences, business administration, public policy, or environmental economics is advantageous.
Technical Expertise
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in climate change, including:
- Expertise in climate change mitigation, decarbonization, GHG accounting, and climate adaptation/resilience.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing long-term carbon reduction strategies, with hands-on success in a global context being highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of global greenhouse gas protocols and science-based carbon reduction methods (e.g., SBTi), as well as familiarity with various reporting standards (e.g., CDP, DJSI, TCFD, SASB).
- Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies related to carbon footprints, particularly for agriculture and food systems.
- Experience with carbon offsets/insets and high-quality agriculture/forestry partnerships is a plus.
Sector-Specific Experience:
- Relevant private sector experience, preferably in agriculture and/or food industries.
Policy And Market Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of climate change policy and market issues, including the latest trends and developments.
Leadership Experience
- Proven leadership in driving climate-related projects and initiatives.
- Experience in managing teams, stakeholders, and influencing decision-making processes.
Strategic & Critical Thinking:
- Ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions to complex climate challenges.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing impactful strategic plans.
Project Management Expertise
- Proficient in planning, organizing, and executing climate-related projects.
- Experience in effectively managing budgets, resources, and timelines.
Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
Team Player
- Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with diverse clients and colleagues.
- Contribute positively to a team-oriented and inclusive work environment.
On going responsibilities for the Global Director of Claim Services:
- Collaborate with ESG and sustainability team members on data collection, analysis, and reporting methods.
- Prepare internal and external reports to evidence and/or communicate climate-related initiatives.
- Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders regarding environmental and sustainability initiatives.

- 100% onsite, in-office work
- US Citizen, Greencard Holder or H1-B
- Must be willing to relocate to Greeley, CO
- Global travel required.
