Job Description Summary The Hydro Services Project Manager is a key operator in GE’s regional Hydro Service growth strategy. A successful PM will work with multi-disciplinary teams to prepare winning proposals (ITO) and managing fast, profitable transactional hydro service projects (OTR) in the Western United States for utilities and government agencies. Typical scopes of work include hydro-turbine/generator maintenance and repairs, spare parts, technical assistance, condition assessment, and product training. Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead GE’s Hydro Transactional Service deal strategy/proposal, and project execution in the region. Be accountable for deal/project success.
  • Coordinate with clients at the site and in the office to troubleshoot customer issues, provide timely and effective technical solutions and products with the support of world-class engineering teams
  • Work together with the Regional Sales Manager and Regional Service Director to drive solutions-based business development supporting GE’s Hydro Services go-to-market strategies
  • Build strong and valued relationships with our customers through demonstrated success in the execution of projects and technical collaboration
  • Successfully manage profitable Hydro Service projects, driving quality, cost, and schedule strategies in compliance with the contract and GE standards
  • Act with Humility, Lead with Transparency, Deliver with Focus
  • Demonstrate GE’s Bedrock Principles of EHS, Quality and Compliance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical), business or a related field from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience in an EPC or manufacturing environment

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel to meet clients and visit Hydro Power Plants up to 33% of the time
  • Ability and willingness to live within 60 minutes of an international airport

Desired Qualifications

  • The ability to manage dispersed teams in remote work environments over several time zones
  • Understanding of the hydro-service market of the region or like experience in other markets
  • Experience with rotating machinery or hydro equipment is valued
  • Project Management Professional certification
  • A service mindset with entrepreneurial spirit and sense of urgency
  • FAR Contract and US Government project management experience is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in project controls/accounting, planning, and scheduling
  • Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and systems
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement processes such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SAP
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • California or Arizona Contractors’ License holder

The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $120,000 USD. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
