Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Lead assists the Supervisor with assigning daily tasks and monitoring progress in order to meet production goals. This position reports to the RFP Manufacturing Supervisor. Specifically for the 3rd shift Lead will be managing a “prep” team that will start ahead for the shift at the start of the work week to minimize downtime. Assist and guide operators with career development and goals.
Lead responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to the team acting as a positive role model at all times. Motivate, support and mentor the staff when required and ensure good teamwork.
  • Ensure the safety and productivity of all Employees is emphasized to the designated shift
  • Support daily schedule of work assignments for production personnel and prepare update of project plans.
  • Act as backup of Manufacturing Sustaining lead in absence designated person.
  • Assist management in track and trend data/metrics for use of continuous improvement for consumables NPI lines related to yield, quality, material and personnel flow and throughput
  • Enable effective communications between management, engineering and technicians
  • Coordinate non-production requirements for development/NPI production builds.
  • Work with MTO, GIS, Quality/Compliance team and other manufacturing group to develop more efficient means to analyze metrics and determine areas for improvement
  • Lead New Product Implementation transfers into Filling
  • Assist team with initiating Nonconformance Reports.
  • Assist with the design and execution of controlled experiments to optimize processes; document and analyze process test results.
  • Actively contribute to team discussions, project planning and project execution
  • Asses team’s process needs and collaborates with leadership and relevant departments to address this needs via projects, rapid improvement events (RIE), or Just Do It (JDI) activities
  • Maintain an organized, safe and efficient work area at all times (6S)
  • Identify process discrepancies, resolve technical issues and improve procedures
  • Represents functional area as SME for change review and audits.
  • Represent NPI manufacturing on cross-functional and cross-site teams.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Training is required
  • Advance experience with SAP and Camstar is a significant plus
  • Experience with Non-Conformance Report is required
  • Accurate and timely data evaluation skills and attention to detail
  • Team oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and outlook is required
  • Ability to apply medical device quality system requirements (21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, etc.) to manufacturing processes and documentation is required
  • Demonstrated math and analytical skills required
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Experience with developing consumables processes is a plus
  • Experience with lean manufacturing tools and principles is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma statistical analysis is a plus
Education:
  • High school diploma with additional training in manufacturing principles
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
