The Solar/Storage – Development Director – DSW (Remote) will lead project development of utility-scale Solar & BESS projects for the Desert Southwest.
This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with a well capitalized, experienced, and high functioning IPP.

My client are one of the leading Independent Power Producers in N. America, with GWs of Renewable Assets in Operation, GWs of projects under Construction, and GWs of projects in their Development Pipeline – Onshore Wind, Solar, Solar+, Hydrogen, Transmission, Long Duration Storage, etc etc.
Description
The Solar/Storage – Development Director – DSW (Remote) will:
- Hands-on team leader and project developer.
- Personally develop a pipeline of utility scale solar, energy storage and other renewable energy technologies in the DSW market.
- Lead a growing team of project developers.
- Lead and manage interdisciplinary teams including land negotiations, real estate, engineering, permitting, legal and interconnection through construction commencement.
- Support CAISO M&A diligence and development efforts.
- Lead project strategy throughout the entire development process to achieve project & corporate goals.
- Ensure completion of any post-closing covenants or development activities performed by the project Seller.
- Develop and manage project development schedules and budgets.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage contract obligations in key project documents.
- Facilitate project discretionary permitting including permit strategy, tracking permit efforts, working with local AHJs, and presenting at permit hearings as needed.
- Coordinate closely with the cross-functional teams across the company.
Profile
The right candidate will have :
- At least 7+ years of project development experience in renewable energy development (significant DSW experience required).
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in renewable energy, finance, engineering, project/construction management or equivalent.
- Experienced people leader and manager of both direct reports and cross-functional project team subject matter authorities.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of renewable energy project development, utilities, interconnection, permitting, contracting.
- Extensive knowledge of renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required including public speaking and/or platform skills for executive management presentations.
Job Offer
For the right Solar/Storage – Development Director – DSW (Remote) there will be:
Base salary up to $215k
Strong annual bonus.
