Job Overview

The Senior Manager of Supply Chain & Logistics will manage project material costs and the companys sourcing capabilities and supply chain. This role is part of the Kore Solutions senior leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and reduce procurement expenses. You will spearhead the purchasing process, from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization, as well as provide guidance on sourcing and supply chain & procurement processes.

Our Senior Manager of Supply Chain & Logistics will be a Supply Chain expert who specializes in implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services as required by the company. Ensuring quality control and adhering to the companys policies and procedures on Supply Chain Management will be some of your main priorities when carrying out this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
  • Manages, develops, and leads the internal Procurement, Logistics, and Warehouse/Inventory management Teams.
  • Monitors supply base performance as related to delivery and quality and works with the supply base to resolve issues.
  • Assist in the management of the Oracle ERP system to ensure order schedule accuracy, proper inventory levels, and correct order procedures.
  • Lead negotiating and sourcing discussions with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Review existing and develop new contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility.
  • Works directly with Sales Department to determine the most cost-effective distribution solution for finished goods transportation to customers.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Continuing to develop brand image and reliability.
  • Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
  • Analyze domestic and international shipping forecasts to achieve optimal inventory levels.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve supply chain issues.
  • Continuously improve supply chain systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop and generate regular MRP reports on key performance indicators for management review.
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement projects as assigned.
  • Global and domestic travel up to 30%. Meet with manufacturers and suppliers, and attend industry tradeshows as required.

Reports To

The position will report to KOREs Director of Supply Chain and Logistics.

Qualifications

The candidate should be an experienced procurement specialist. The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Bachelors degree required. MBA or masters degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or related discipline is preferred.
  • Proven experience managing supply chain, logistics, and inventory management operations with a managed spend of over $100M.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of Supply Chain Experience with 3-5 of leadership experience in Supply Chain.
  • Purchasing experience in the Utilities market (medium to high voltage transmission, substation construction and/or solar) is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • Proficient in ERP systems such as Oracle & Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Management and leadership skills, as well as comfort training employees.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with cross-functional teams (excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills).
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate orally. Hearing and vision within normal ranges with or without an assisted hearing device.
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of up to 25 lbs. of force may be required.

Work Environment

  • The position is full-time in-person/on-site.
  • The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer and phone are normal.
