Power utilities have dramatically increased their focus on sustainability and renewable energy. As you result, this has led to a rapid increase in sustainable job opportunities across the industry.   Engineering roles in solar, wind, battery, hydroelectric and even biomass are common. There has been an increase in roles in energy efficiency such as analysts and auditors. The background and qualifications vary widely. For engineering roles, clearly an undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant engineering is critical.
