Reporting to the VP of RNA Nuclear Service Operations, the Pickering Refurbishment Project Site Director will coordinate all project management activities and lead the all service lines and business activities in for the Refurbishment of the Pickering Nuclear Plant. The position is required to develop quality partnerships with the client and key suppliers and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support the project objectives. The Director is expected to possess broad Operational Excellence knowledge with extensive expertise in the areas of team building, project management and relationship building.
- Minimum 10+ years in the Power Generation Industry
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering or a related field
- Experience in Project Management and PMI terminology
- Customer facing and issue resolution experience
- Strong critical/analytical thinking skills and excellent communicator both oral and written
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization to collaborate and gain buy in to drive the project forward
- Must have demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and achieve significant, complex goals and objectives, specifically, organize and implement projects that meet project objectives
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of Turbine Generator equipment including auxiliary systems
- Passion to learn and teach and for building capabilities in others.
- Ability to manage multiple issues and projects simultaneously involving various business units
- Position requires 25-30% travel, both domestic and international
- Candidate must be willing to relocate to Ontario, Canada.
Specific Accountabilities
- Manage the Pickering Refurbishment Project, commit to a One Team approach and is committed to delivery of premier service
- Own customer issue investigations and related corrective and preventative action requirements, including report out to customers.
- Ensure project management excellence through PMO oversight, including ensuring project management certification, and project risk, quality gates, planning, execution and project close out requirements are completed.
- Oversee Project Safety process for Region North America operations and implement actions as required for compliance.
- Manage the project on schedule and on budget
- Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in North America and be able to obtain a work permit for Canada.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
Gas Services
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
