Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
- Develop preliminary solar site plan designs using CAD or alternative design tools.
- Execute PVsyst models to support project development and construction phases.
- Evaluate engineering designs and documents, and advise on performance and cost optimization.
- Provide timely technical information for internal processes, including the creation of summarized project EPC budgets.
- Initiate and manage the technical review process, encompassing various engineering facets.
- Perform due diligence reviews, examining technical impacts on financial models (OPEX and CAPEX).
- Identify and resolve technical issues with project developers, lenders, and investors.
- Craft and draft proposals outlining scopes of services related to due diligence work.
- Negotiate sub-contractor, consultant, or engineering agreements as necessary.
- Support solar projects from development through construction, aiding in documentation, file management, and providing technical assistance for RFIs.
Desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field, Electrical Engineering a plus
- 3+ years of experience in solar engineering and development, with a focus on MW+ scale solar installations
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficient computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, PV Syst, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other solar project management or engineering software
- Ability to utilize Excel spreadsheets, create Excel trackers, and be able to use Word and PowerPoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in-person
