Chemours is seeking a(n) Sustainability – Life Cycle Analysis Intern to join our Sustainability Technology team! This position will report directly to the Life Cycle Analysis Program Leader.

Position will provide support to company work in the subject matter of Life Cycle Analysis. This will include supporting all aspects that impact the LCA from product carbon footprint to upstream / downstream impact.

Location: Wilmington, DE

Hours: Full-time or part-time schedule, flexible to candidate needs

Term: 3-4-month assignment between May-August 2024 (can be flexible to school specific timing)

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Build Life Cycle Inventories for materials of interest leveraging knowledge of chemical processes, mass, and energy balances
  • Develop Cradle to Gate and Cradle to Grave models under the guidance of the LCA Program Leader
  • Responsible for analysis, visualization, and report of LCA results
  • Actively participate and contribute to project meetings and deliverables

The Following Is Required For This Role

  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Grade Level or above at the time of assignment
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering
  • Completed or to be enrolled at least in a course on Environmental Life Cycle Assessment
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Inventory Databases
  • Flexibility to quickly respond to changing production, regulatory, and competitive needs

The Following Is Preferred For This Role

  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Knowledge of Industrial Chem Processes
  • Curiosity and awareness of Systems Thinking, LCA
  • Knowledge of Techno Economic Assessments
