How you will contribute
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Light Pole Assembly position in the Light Pole Department. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will maintain and operate pole machinery according to orders in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, you will
  • To operate a workstation in the assembly department.
    This may be one workstation on a regular basis or
    Any workstation on an as needed basis.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain and operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that the pole style and shop orders match.
  • Ensure all daily and weekly paperwork is completed and turned in.
Ensure housekeeping is in order and meets all DHEC and OSHA requirements
  • Maintain and operate Sander 1 or 2 in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain and operate the saw used for cutting poles to length in safe and efficient manner.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure that sander is in good working order, has proper belts in place and pressures are set accordingly.
  • Ensure that pole style and shop orders match.
  • Cut pole to proper length, sand, making sure to remove 98% of the gloss, and squeegee surface clean.
  • Check fit of tenons and/or anchor base if required.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be able to read and comprehend prints
  • Must be able to read tape measure
  • 1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands; talk; hear; stand and walk
  • 2. Ability to lift up to 75lbs without assistance
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
  • High School diploma or GED
