About Walmart Energy Transformation

The Walmart Energy Transformation team is a newly reimagined energy team that was created to ensure the team has the resources and internal positioning to deliver on Walmart’s energy-related regenerative goals. The team now reports directly to the COO of Walmart US and the Chief Sustainability Officer.

This New Organization Is Responsible For

Buying energy and optimizing for the lowest cost in regulated and wholesale markets. Meeting our renewable’s goal of 100% renewables by 2030 Increasing the energy efficiency and reducing emissions across our facilities Meeting our 2040 Zero Emissions goal, including transitioning our fleet to zero emissions vehicles

We are a team of seasoned energy veterans dedicated to realizing Walmart’s regenerative commitments and leveraging Walmart’s platform to support the decarbonization of our customers, associates, communities and suppliers. You’ll make an impact by…

  • Provide support across E2E functions and the broader enterprise to accelerate the energy transformation strategy
  • Act as air traffic control for the team to triage and prioritize opportunities
  • Ensure ET programs and activities are embedded across all entities, including stores, supply chain, clubs, and Walmart International
  • Implement energy transformation strategic plan across the enterprise, including deployment of onsite solar, EV charging stations, energy site planning and sustainable facility upgrades.
  • Expedite business integration in supply chain, operations, and real estate leveraging best practices from cross-functional partners to streamline and improve processes and providing influence and insight on current and future business trends
  • Serve as main point of contact for ET entity to ensure requests are triaged and managed appropriately, providing solutions for the ET customer base; Manages the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure execution of ET programs and activities across all entities, including stores, supply chain, clubs, and Walmart International by managing and modifying associated project plans; creating and managing task timelines; formatting and maintaining project data; organizing and facilitating communication materials to ensure successful roll-outs and implementations.
  • Driving the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
  • Managing the measurement and reporting of financial (such as energy savings) and non-financial (such as CO2 emission reductions) metrics to drive business performance, partnering with multiple departments on incorporating energy use into business plans and budgets.
  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

Minimum Qualifications…

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Energy, Environmental Sciences, Finance or related field and 5 years’ experience in operations management or related area OR 7 years’ experience in operations management, or related area.
