WHERE YOU FIT IN

The Account Manager II role is a key position on the Shell Energy Solutions’ Sales Support team. This position has oversight of SES’s Platinum Brokers and key Commercial and Industrial Accounts. Liaisons with Sales, Marketing, and Products on recommended marketing strategies to best serve our commercial customers. The position will manage internal employee and external partner relationships.

Reporting into the Sr. Customer Support Manager, the role requires a self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cultivate strong relationships with assigned Brokers/Customers and facilitate any cross-selling opportunities with other business lines, e.g., Demand Response, Renewables and Solution Sales, etc.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all matters related to assigned key Brokers and Customers, e.g., manage on-boarding and renewal activities, maintain accurate client meter list, oversee any changes to existing contract terms, provide required reporting, track enrollment transactions, ensure proper invoicing and manage other general inquiries/issue resolution, etc.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of product/service offerings and retail power agreements (Broker agreement, MSA and TCs, etc.).
  • Possess a high-level understanding of market structure for ERCOT, Northeast and CAISO.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance to advance Shell core values and provide industry-leading client experience.
  • Support the ongoing development of Broker engagement and loyalty strategies.
  • Manage all escalated internal/external complaints and issues.
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or operations.
  • 3 – 6+ years of Retail Energy experience, specific experience in the B2B retail energy space is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ERCOT, PJM, MISO, NYISO, NE-POOL, PUC and/or TDSP/TDU standards
  • Knowledge in SalesForce and Intelometry technology is a plus
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Analytical mindset, demonstrate ability to problem solve and create practical solutions to overcome problems and mitigate risks.
  • Comfortable working in a target-driven and fast-changing environment, and able to respond to changing business needs
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and strong Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organization and time management skills, with the ability to maintain a strict level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and demonstrate a vested interest in team goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships
  • Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance and gain further knowledge
  • Ability to meet deadlines, learn quickly and demonstrate effective problem solving and follow-up skills

LOCATION & WORK SCHEDULE

  • Required to be in-person in Houston, TX through a hybrid workplace environment
