Position Specific Description

  • Position is responsible for short-term natural gas procurement and optimization
  • Works closely with various teams within EMT including Scheduling, Origination, Power Trading and Analytics
  • Ensure alignment and compliance with all relevant management systems and Risk guidelines
  • Develop and maintain relationships with gas producers, marketers, and operations
  • Responsible for after-hours and weekend on call responsibilities as part of a rotation
  • Required participation/presence for all critical events, including potential relocation to back-up site during extreme weather events

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitors market conditions and analyzes transactions to help in identifying and executing energy trades
  • Ensures transaction terms are beneficial to the organization and meet risk guidelines
  • Optimizes economics to assure minimum energy supply costs and maximizes profits for generation portfolio
  • Determines generation requirements and coordinates fuel procurement to meet obligations
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
